In my home my husband loves green mangoes also known as Kairi in Marathi ( Indian Language).
When he was small he used to visit his mothers village where along with village children they used to play in the mango orchard.the kids used to love plucking the unripe mangoes .The plucked mangoes would then be smashed between two stones along with green chilly and salt(which they would carry from home) and enjoy the sour n salty, spicy mango.
along the same lines here is a very simple recipe as a accompainment thats made in my home in summer season.
2 raw mangoes
Chopped in dices.
1 tbsp Red chilly powder
Salt
1 teaspoon Mustard.
2tbsp Oil ( any)
How to make :
Heat the oil in the small wok.Add mustard to the oil
As soon as the mustard splutter switch off the flame and add chilli powder and salt to avoid the burning of chilli .After that add the chopped mango pieces.Switch on the flame once again and mix everything for 2 to 3 minutes and then switch off the flame again.Eat it as accompainment with the meal as a pickle or can be eatten directly with roti or chappati.
